Dear Chireno ISD Community and Family,

Chireno schools will remain closed until Monday May 4th to Honor Governor Abbott’s executive order and to keep our students, staff and community members safe during this pandemic.  We will continue to offer instruction through packet pick- up this Friday from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. You will also be able to return the previous two week’s work so teachers can grade and give feedback at those times as well. We will continue to offer meals to students 18 and under each week, with pick up on Mondays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm while supplies are available.

Please continue to check the district website and district Facebook page for the latest information. We appreciate your patience during these troubling times.

Thanks,

Michael Skinner

Superintendent, Chireno ISD

Good Evening!
We hope our entire CISD Family and Community is well! Thank you for the many emails and messages of support as we put plans in place to support you during the school closure. Please continue to reach out and let us know how we may serve you.
Many of you have asked what you can do to help. Right now, the answer is simple-just check on each other. Call your neighbor and offer a word of encouragement. Remind each other it's okay to make your at home "classroom" rules as you go. Find what works best for your family. Please make every effort to follow the recommendations for limiting the spread of COVID-19.
If you can, say a prayer for your school leaders. We're trying to make decisions based on many unknown factors, with information that is rapidly evolving. Balancing short term needs, with the potential long-term impact is especially challenging. One thing is for sure, if our children are not healthy-physically and emotionally, nothing else really matters.

Sincerely,
Heather Hagle
