Congratulations to Garrett Sanford, who captured 8th place at the Lufkin Junior High Cross Country meet on Wednesday! This was a meet that featured several 4A, 5A, and a few 6A schools so the completion was fierce out on the course. Congrats to all of our athletes who competed hard and represented our school so well yesterday.

Attention all Chireno Owl parents: CISD has made a recent change to the school calendar. For the month of October, student holidays will be Monday, Oct. 11, as well as the following Thursday and Friday (Oct. 14 & 15). By moving these dates, CISD will be better positioned to accommodate both FFA and FCCLA organizational activities for the Nacogdoches County Fair. Please note, that Thursday, Oct. 14 will be a district faculty and staff planning day. The only days students will be required to attend school during that week will be Tuesday, Oct. 12, and Wednesday, Oct. 13.
