It is also a requirement for any perspective athlete who wishes to participate in a sport this year who didn't participate this past school year. Hello Chireno Owls! My name is Geoff Gregory and I am very proud to be part of the Chireno ISD family as your Secondary Principal! My wife, Bailey and I live in Lufkin and are both very aware of the greatness of Chireno ISD. We are very ready to support the Owls! This will be my 12th year in education, including experience in grades Pre-K to 12th grade. During that time I have worked in roles including administration, instructional technology, and five years as a U.S. History teacher (8th grade). Most recently I was an Assistant Principal at Huntington High School for 3 years. I am a firm proponent of child advocacy and truly enjoy getting the opportunity to work with students as they prepare for the "real world". I believe in helping each child achieve their individual best. Bailey and I love to spend our time together traveling, finding the best places to eat BBQ, trying to keep up with three very energetic kids, and working on renovation projects together. I am so excited to be a part of Chireno ISD and can’t wait to work with the parents, students, and staff as we grow together, always learning! Students, If you are up at the school this summer I would love for you to stop by and say hello! I am up here from around 7:00-5:00pm. Please feel free to stop by and see if I am free. I would love to get to meet you!

Hello Chireno Owl Family! My name is Larry Cupit and I am excited to join the Owl family as the Elementary Principal. My wife, Christie and I live in Etoile. I have been an educator for over 18 years. I began my teaching career at Etoile ISD and have taught almost every age of student from Kindergarten all the way to adults. In addition to Etoile ISD, I have taught at SFA, both in the Elementary Education department and at the Charter School. After serving as an instructional coach in Etoile and Lufkin ISD, I was the campus principal at Corrigan-Camden Elementary. We have two adult children and two awesome grandchildren! In our spare time, Christie and I like to relax at home or take small road trips to historical places. Having grown up in Etoile, I am very familiar with Chireno ISD and look forward to leading the learning at the elementary campus for students, teachers, and staff!

Exciting news for the 2021-2022 school year! *CISD will once again provide the necessary school supplies for all students. Parents should plan to provide a backpack and headphones/ear buds to be used with devices. *All students will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost to families. This is the result of a meal service waiver available through the USDA. It's a great day to be an Owl!

From the Chireno Owls Sports Wire: Our Lady Owls left it all on the field this afternoon here at Marshall High School in a 5-3 loss to Bloomburg. However, we couldn't be more proud of this team and our coaches for putting together another outstanding season on the softball diamond. We are poised for another great year in 2022. Thank you, ladies, for being such great examples of team play, sportsmanship, and class as you represented Chireno ISD so well.
